Frost Damage

This time of year, you will often find your tee time delayed due to frost. Grass is very sensitive to frost and traffic. Grass plants freeze in the cold weather and when walked or driven across will shatter the grass plant. This will leave the plant a black color and the above ground tissue will be dead. Here are two images of what frost damage looks like on a bentgrass fairway.

You can see how just one person walking across an area can cause significant damage. We appreciate your understanding of delay, during these cool months of Fall.
